Last year, our S4 team developed an innovative 'AEyeFish sensor' using Raspberry Pi 4 and convolutional neural network (CNN) to recognize over 26 types of fish in the market. After spending over half a year and taking over 1700 photos (over 4900 photos after processing), their device can accurately distinguish between similar-looking fish, empowering elderly and amateur buyers to make informed purchasing decisions.
On the other hand, our S3 team invented 'ATMs: AI-Incorporated Traffic Monitoring System', also utilizing Raspberry Pi 4 and CNN to recognize car plate numbers and alphabets, together with some IoT functions to extend its applications. This system can be installed on Hong Kong's lightpoles to monitor parking times or illegal parking and alert drivers via SMS. It also features Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to protect sensitive data.
Congratulations to both teams on their impressive achievements!
