A team comprising two S6 students and four S5 students won the Platinum Medal Award, the Special Award by Innovation Initiative Co-operative Inc. "The Inventors Circle" in Toronto, Canada, the Special Award by the Turkish Inventors Association (TÜMMİAD), and the Special Award by the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Association (INNOPA) for their invention of a Venturi effect-enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen generator.
Another team comprising four S4 students won the Gold Medal Award, the Special Award by the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, and the Special Award by Eurobusiness-Haller & Haller Pro Inventio Foundation for their invention of a redox tag timer.
